The Big Five Tour

A thrilling adventure that takes you on the trail of the ‘Big Five’, the elusive Leopard, the Blue and the Sperm Whales, the Sloth Bear and the majestic Asian Elephant.

 

7 NIGHTS 8 DAYS

DAY 1 – AIRPORT / COLOMBO / YALA

You will be greeted by a representative of Ebert Silva Holidays at the airport. If time permits you will witness the city’s heritage, history and its famous monuments on an exciting open deck double decker sightseeing tour before being transferred to Yala.

Overnight stay in Yala.

 

DAY 2 – YALA / MIRISSA

After an early breakfast proceed to have the safari in the Yala National Park. The second largest national park in Sri Lanka, Yala, is probably the perfect place to spot leopards, wild elephants and the Sloth Bear. The park is home to about 30-35 leopards, 150 elephants, sloth bears, buffalo and countless bird and mammal species. The male leopards in Yala National Park are bold and unafraid of safari jeeps. In the evening you will proceed to Mirissa.

DAY 3 – MIRISSA

Arrive at the picturesque Mirissa harbor to embark on an exciting whale watching expedition. Breakfast will be served on board as you sail the blue waves of the Indian Ocean in search of the largest animals on the planet.  Mirissa is the world’s best location to view the world’s largest mammal – the Blue Whale during the months from November to April. You may be lucky to have that awe-inspiring moment of witnessing a sperm whale emerge between the waves. After lunch at the hotel you will enjoy a delightful visit to the Galle Dutch Fort.

DAY 4 – UDAWALAWA

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Udawalawe to embark on a memorable evening safari. Witness the majestic elephants across the open savannah plains in large herds. Water buffaloes, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and if you’re lucky, the leopard among many other species can be seen in the Park.

DAY 5 – UDAWALAWE / DAMBULLA

You will be experiencing an early morning safari today in the Udawalawe National Park. Starting off on a cool morning you are sure to see countless species of birds including peacocks, hawks, eagles, little green bees, painted storks and many more among other fascinating species. Head back to the camp for breakfast and proceed to Dambulla.

Overnight stay in Dambulla.

 

DAY 6 – WASGAMUWA / KANDY

Proceed to Wasgamuwa National Park early morning with packed breakfast. This park offers delightful discoveries for wildlife enthusiasts having an abundance of biodiversity in the area. It is also a popular venue to view the Asian Elephant roaming in large herds. In the evening you will be transferred to Kandy.

Overnight stay in Kandy.

 

DAY 7 – KANDY / COLOMBO

After breakfast, proceed to visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most venerated Buddhist sites in the world. After lunch you will be transferred to Colombo. Overnight stay in Colombo.

 

DAY 8 – COLOMBO / AIRPORT

It is your final day of a thrilling experience with Sri Lanka’s wildlife. We bid goodbye to you with the hope of seeing you at our shores again. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
