9 NIGHTS 10 DAYS

DAY 1 – AIRPORT | DAMBULLA

You will be greeted by a representative of Ebert Silva Holidays at the airport and be transferred to your hotel in Sigiriya. Afterwards visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a fascinating series of 5 caves that dates back to the 1st century BC.  Get a glimpse into this alluring temple complex which is a significant part of Sri Lankan history that has been used for over 22 centuries. The interesting cave complex with colorful paintings on its ceilings and walls and the large number of Buddha statues still hold a sense of benevolence and spirituality.

DAY 2 – SIGIRIYA / DAMBULLA

After breakfast, you will proceed to explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. A marvel among the new Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is also the most visited tourist attraction in the island. You will be fascinated by this exceptional masterpiece of ancient urban planning, landscaping, architecture and engineering. The climb of 1200 steps will take you to the summit of the Sigiriya rock fortress, a best preserved ancient urban site in Asia from the 1st millennium.

Enjoy a visit to the Minneriya National Park after lunch. It is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful parks in the country that is home to hundreds of species of animals, ranging from birds to mammals.

DAY 3 – KANDY 

After enjoying a typical Sri Lankan breakfast leave for Kandy. En-route visit a spice garden in Hanwella and explore Sri Lanka’s world-famous spices at their very source. The aroma of cinnamon, pepper, cardamom and nutmeg will capture your senses and you will be enlightened with the process of how spices are produced in the traditional manner. Visit a Batik factory and observe the enduring skills in making the beautiful and fashionable Batik fabrics.

DAY 4 – KANDY

After early breakfast visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic located in the heart of the city. At this sacred site you can get a glimpse of Buddhist customs and rituals that have continued uninterrupted for centuries. Explore the museum that includes several remarkable ancient artifacts. The architectural splendor and the historical significance of the temple complex will undoubtedly be an amazing experience. Proceed thereafter to visit the fascinating three temple loop – the temples of Gadaladeniya, Embekke and Lankathilake. Found off the beaten track, these fascinating edifices of the Kandyan Kingdom are seen within a short distance from each other. They epitomisze Sri Lanka’s Buddhist heritage, history and exceptional craftsmanship and are fine examples for the mastery in timber architecture.

DAY 5 – NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. Join a fascinating and most scenic train ride from Kandy to Nanu-Oya Station (close to Nuwara Eliya). You may also opt to travel in a comfortable vehicle to Nuwara Eliya and visit a Tea Factory en-route. Be at leisure in the afternoon enjoying your stay in the picturesque setting surrounded by lush green hills.

DAY 6 – HORTON PLAINS

After Breakfast take a hike through the rugged terrains of the Horton Plains National Park and experience the delightful landscapes and refreshingly cold breezes and wildflowers. Visit the ‘World’s End’ the highlight of the Horton Plains and be mesmerized by the beauty of the cascading Baker’s Falls located within the park.

The sightseeing tour in the cool city of Nuwara Eliya and an enjoyable boat ride in the charming Gregory Lake will complete your day.

DAY 7 – UDAWALAWA

After an early morning breakfast you will be transferred to the Udawalawa National Park for a safari. The park boasts of an impressive concentration of animals across its open savannah plains, of which the most noted is its large and stable elephant population.

DAY 8 – GALLE 

You will proceed to Galle after breakfast, a World Heritage City and a ‘must see’ destination in your tour to Sri Lanka. Galle has many delights to offer you from grand colonial attractions, mesmerizing sights of the Indian Ocean, beautiful beaches, temples, wildlife and many more. Leaving the city of Galle you can have an interesting visit to the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda which is a unique welfare center which helps to protect endangered sea turtles. Enjoy the unique experience of witnessing the fascinating coastal wetland ecosystem of mangroves and islands while on the thrilling boat safari on the Madu River.

DAY 9 – GALLE / COLOMBO

Day spent at leisure to pursue your interests. A visit to the National Museum to view the rich and splendid history of the island or shopping in the morning will be followed by a delectable authentic Sri Lankan lunch. Enjoy some vibrant night life in the city in the evening.

DAY 10 – COLOMBO / AIRPORT

Today is your last day in Sri Lanka. After breakfast, hop on board for an exciting open deck city sightseeing experience on the ‘Colombo City Tour’ to have a glimpse of Colombo’s history, heritage and to witness the city’s main monuments and sites. You will be guided to the airport thereafter to board the flight for your onward journey.
